  • Brown Paper Packages

Well, it's funny how life has a way of surprising you; for instance, I thought I was going to be going crazy trying to get stuff done at work. However, the humongous project we encountered in late November that should have taken two months is wrapping up nicely in just over three or four weeks. To compliment the title of this entry, "these are a few of my favorite things" to say the least.

However, a new beast has reared it's ugly head and now must be slain. Christmas shopping, put off until the last minute because I was so busy with work, is about to kick my ass throughout next week.

Between five and six days of shopping left (depending on how you look at it), and I have approximately fourteen people to shop for. I'm thinking if I can get four people done a day, then I will have a chance to actually enjoy Christmas a bit, and maybe even get a tree for the apartment. We've been planning on it since early December, but you know how that goes. I'd like to run out and grab one, maybe surprise my roommate, but we'll see.

Plus, there seems to be an abundance of Christmas-related parties this year - one at work, one for friends, one at Mom's before Christmas Eve to ease the workload on my grandmother. I'm baking cookies for work, and may just end up baking a whole shit-ton of them and bringing them everywhere. It'll be a good prep for my new year's resolution.

My resolution is to make more food myself, instead of just ordering from my collection of fast food and takeout joints. Call it an Adult-In-Training exercise, but I would really like to start eating stuff that I prepare.

Oh well, at this point we'll see if I make it to the first of the year. Crazy, crazy holiday season!
